The two-day showcase in Victoria Island brought together five participating businesses to demonstrate how design, furnishings, and home technology work together.
“I wish that was my house” was the recurring reaction from visitors to House of TM Soraya’s Open House, held on 23 and 24 October at the company’s Experience Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, during Design Week Lagos.
The two-day showcase welcomed clients, designers and invited guests into completed interiors, where they could see how furniture, materials, scent, kitchen appliances, bedding, and home technology worked together within a finished space. Five businesses participated, contributing products and expertise across different aspects of the residential environment and they were;
1. Villar Scentral
Villar Scentral is a scent solutions company operating in Turkiye, Nigeria, and South Africa. Its offering focuses on incorporating fragrance into the identity and atmosphere of interior spaces.
2. Bang & Olufsen
Bang & Olufsen presented selections from its television and speaker collections, highlighting the role of audio-visual technology in residential interiors.
3. Duplexline Nigeria
Duplexline Nigeria supplies kitchen appliances and represents brands including Fhiaba, Mondi, SMEG, Elica, and Barazza in Nigeria.
4. LSA Home
LSA Home, a sister company of Serene Hospitality, offers bedding, pillows, and mattresses, bringing a focus on comfort and furnishings to residential spaces.
5. Watling & Granby

Guests also had the opportunity to meet representatives of the participating businesses and discuss their products and solutions.

For House of TM Soraya, the Open House was an opportunity to demonstrate what happens when design intent is translated into a fully realised environment. Founder and Chief Executive Officer of House of TM Soraya, Tolulope J. Olabode said:
“We want people to walk into a space we have designed and feel an immediate connection to it to the point where they say, ‘I wish that was my house.’ Hearing that response from different people throughout the two days was particularly rewarding. It reminds us that good design goes beyond how a space looks; it is about how people feel in it and how they can imagine themselves living in it. That is the experience we strive to create with every project.”
Gbolahan A. Ishola, Executive Director and Co-founder of House of TM Soraya, also said:
“A drawing communicates the vision, but the finished space shows how every decision works together. From furniture and material selections to the integration of technology and functional details, the quality of the outcome depends on how well those elements are brought together.”
The Open House event offered visitors an opportunity to experience House of TM Soraya’s uniques approach to interior design and execution, showing how different elements contribute to a completed environment.
