23-year-old Bronx-born Ice Spice has released the song Pretty Girl with its accompanying video, featuring Nigerian pop star and recent recipient of MTV’s 2023 Video Music Award for Best Afrobeats, Rema.
Ice Spice’s song is coming after being announced as the season premiere musical guest on Saturday Night Live. Other wins before her latest release include Best Breakthrough Hip Hop Artist at the 2023 at the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards and Best New Artist at the 2023 Video Music Awards, as well as a special cover appearance on Variety Magazine.
Before the collaboration with Rema, Ice Spice had teamed up with rap queen Nicki Minaj on Princess Diana and joined tbe rap queen and Aqua on Barbie World, garnering attention as the hottest female hip-hop debut of 2023 and breaking Whitney Houston’s 31-year record for biggest leap to the top spot in Billboard Rhythmic radio history.
Owing to her back-to-back hits, all of which have made it to Top 10 of the Billboard charts, Ice Spice is the artist with the most Hot 100 Top 5 singles in 2023. Her fast-paced rise is based on an organic appeal, as her sobriquet “Princess Diana” accords her a sense of resilience, enables her to take charge of her own destiny and helps the audience to connect better with her.

In Pretty Girl, Rema and Ice Spice make up a formidable duo as they delve into the world of romance.
