It’s often daunting for fans when they must deal with a long wait following the release of a project from their faves. For Jinmi Abduls’ fans, the wait ends today as he shares Abena, a pop number and his first single since his sophomore project, Jinmi of Lagos 2 and his debut since signing a new management deal with Plug NG.
Despite being one of the more recycled names in Afropop, Jinmi Abduls puts his stamp on the name and the self-produced release. In terms of subject matter, Abena runs similar to much of Abduls’ previous material as he talks love. This is perhaps his most concerted pop effort as he continues to show his range.
Abena features guitars from Bendrix and was mixed and mastered by GMK with art direction from Yinka Inker.
