In the space of 2 years, both Joeboy and Mayorkun have waxed strong and beaten all odds with singles that have made them strong contenders for the coveted Next Rated title, one the latter clinched in 2018 and the former was nominated for this year. It’s no surprise that Joeboy taps Mayorkun for his third single; the Beats by KO produced Don’t Call Me Back, as emPawa’s star boy and the last to be released before his debuts his first EP titled Love and Light.
Waging on their Afropop capabilities and very obvious synergy, the duo twine their personalities as they tragically debate with their muses on the crumbling state of their relationships. By all indications, Don’t Call Me Back doesn’t pack the punch like Joeboy’s previous singles but carries the weight of a stellar hit and doesn’t take anything away from Joeboy’s hitmaker persona.
