For years now, R2Bees have been the go-to for Afrobeat sounds in Ghana and somewhere in the midst of a multitude of releases, is a noteworthy number of assists from Nigerian artists; some like their consistent partnership with artists like Wizkid, frequent, others, not so much. All in all, in the past years, Nigerians have become a special flavor the group uses to spice up their sounds and till this day, the artistic synergy these artists have with some of the musicians haven’t failed them.
In their third studio Album; Site 15, Wizkid reprises his role as the ‘big Dog’ in continental affiliations as he joins the group in the introductory track; Straight From Mars, a spacey but vibrant cut with easy lyrics that allude to their status.
Next up is a sound rich love ballad with an assist from Burna Boy that doesn’t take anything out of the already engaging record but at the same time makes a welcome difference.
With it’s diverse range of sounds, Site 15 also features a balance in the scales of inclusivity in its use of music neophytes and stalwarts in the industry, a mix that makes it a catchall. Stream the 15-track Album here.
