Speaking on the track, Idehen explains:
“I’ve known Scrimshire for an age it seems: I’d featured on his album Listeners back in the pre-covid age. His music and journey are a big influence on where I want to go with my journey. I’m extremely honored to get this remix from him: issa banger, your honour!”

Scrimshaw puts his stellar musicianship on full display towards the final third, as the track explodes with a wonderfully chaotic jazz rhythm before morphing into an infectious garage rhythm, while surrounded by the ensemble chorus spreading a life-affirming message of tenacity and perseverance – an unsurprisingly brilliant collaboration.

Now, Joshua Idehen has returned with an enlistment of creative wonder and long-time collaborator Scrimshire for a special re-imagining.

Scrimshaw’s remix of Don’t You Give Up On Me is impeccably executed. Jumping straight in, the tracks punchy jazz rhythms drive the track forward, paired seamlessly with heavenly pads and Idehen’s beautiful lyricism.
