Fresh off his record-breaking Grammy award win and performance, Burna Boy goes on to continue to wow us by way of a feature on Justin Bieber’s Loved By You, released today as part of the latter’s sixth album roll-out.
The duo is an unlikely pair but as is proven by Burna Boy’s performance on the likes of Fall Out Boy’s Sunshine Riptide, Lily Allen’s Your Choice, Zlatan-assisted Killin Dem, Jorja Smith-assisted Gum Body, and Sam Smith’s My Oasis among other distinct features, the singer is not sound-constrained and so, his performance and chemistry with Bieber on Loved By You comes as no surprise.
Bieber leads with a smooth-sounding verse that summarizes his upbeat supplication before he dips into an Afropop snare-driven instrumental; alluding to Leriq’s contribution to the song, which allows Burna Boy to land smoothly, expanding their narrative with a complementary serene verse, just as corny and heartwarming as Bieber’s.
A Justin Bieber collaboration is not out of Burna Boy’s way and Loved By You is proof of this.
