On Sunday 18th February, Kano Pillars took on Enyimba United in Kano for the final time this season. For Udoji Chinedu, former Enyimba captain it was a nostalgic experience that saw him face-off with former teammates. It was also, sadly, Chinedu’s last soccer match for the side as he passed on in a car accident later in the day.

Following the game, Chinedu went to visit his former teammates but was unfortunately involved in an accident on his way back home revealed Kano Pillars via a Twitter post on Sunday.

The 28-year-old captained Enyimba to the Nigeria Professional Football League title in 2015 and the Federation Cup in 2014, before signing for Pillars in 2016.

Udoji is survived by a wife and two children. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
