Kemi Adetiba, one of Nollywood’s leading filmmakers, is known for the commercially successful film franchises, The Wedding Party and King of Boys. In 2021, following the initial success of the KOB debut, she released a sequel in the form of a series, King of Boys: The Return of The King (KOB 2), which gained critical acclaim.
Early in 2022, Adetiba came up with a list of projects she was embarking on, one of which is a Netflix mini-series, To Kill A Monkey. Currently in production, the series stars Ireti Doyle, Chidi Mokeme, Stella Damasus, Bimbo Akintola, William Benson, Lilian Afegbai, Bucci Franklin, Michael O. Ejoor and Damilola Adegbite.
The behind-the-scenes mini-documentary of the crime thriller has just been released, shot by Jenola and Enoch Okesola. The award-winning filmmaker announced this on social media as she nursed the possibility of surpassing the success of KOB.
According to the post, “if we execute at least 70% of what we have in mind, it’s gonna make the second KOB look like a stage play by comparison”.
Produced by Remi Adetiba and directed by Kemi Adetiba, To Kill A Monkey is set to hit the screens early in 2024.
