A new Kenyan drama series Kash Money is set to premiere on global streaming platform, Netflix, on the 31st January, 2025. The anticipated series will be released courtesy of Insignia Productions, the production company behind Single Kiasi.
Kash Money is about Joe Ngenga, a ruthless tycoon who will stop at nothing to get his way, whereas his stubbornness will result in his and his family’s downfall. The show, focused on a powerful family dynasty, introduces an ensemble cast that comprises renowned actors John Sibi-Okumu, Sanaipei Tande, Amara Tari, Lenana Kariba, Makbul Mohamed, Janet Mbugua, Morris Mwangi, Dedan Juma, Joey Muthengi and Oliver Litondo.
The show is created and directed by Phil Bresson and Grace Kahaki, the forces behind Single Kiasi.
In a media address, showrunner and director Kahaki said: “The show is a twisted, fast-paced drama that tackles many relevant social issues. Get ready for polarising characters and unexpected plot twists that will keep you hooked from start to finish.” The showrunner further points out that the series explores a complex web of betrayal, secrets, family dynamics, lust and greed—highlighting the extent to which people go in the quest for money.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have this incredible platform to showcase our labour of love to a global audience! The trailer drops soon this January,” said Kahaki.
