Netflix has released the trailer for the highly-awaited sequel to one of the highest-grossing Nollywood movies of all time King of Boys which is back as a series titled King Of Boys: The Return of The King.
Set to be released on August 27, 2021, the new trailer gives us an insight into the seven-part project which is Netflix’s first Original Series from Nigeria.
Directed by Kemi Adetiba, the trailer kicks off with the formidable businesswoman Eniola Salami, played by Nollywood veteran Sola Sobowale, who returns to Nigeria after a five-year exile eager to announce her plans to become the governor of Lagos state.
Toni Tones return as the younger Eniola Salami who remains desperate for power in the political/crime thriller. Revolving around Salami’s relentless quest for power, the trailer shows Makanaki(Reminisce), Odogwu Malay (Ill Bliss), Aare Akinwande (Akin Lewis), Sade Bello (Osas Ighodaro), Ade Tiger (Titi Kuti), and President Mumusa (Keppy Ekpeyoung) reprise their roles from the first movie.
New additions to the cast include Dapo Banjo (Efa Iwara), Adetola Fashina (Deyemi Okanlawon, Odudubariba (Charly Boy), and Governor Tunde Randle (Lord Frank).
The trailer release coincides with the launch of Netflix Nigeria’s Official Facebook Page @NetflixNaija/facebook and the newly-launched Mobile Plan which is now available alongside the Basic, Standard & Premium plans from NGN1, 200 per month.
