King Promise Unveils New Album Project ‘5 Star’

Posted on

Ghanaian party boy, King Promise has launched his second studio album titled 5 Star which is a tasteful body of work spanning cultures from across the globe.

The album has been highly anticipated after Promise’s 2019 debut album As Promised (which featured tracks with global stars Wizkid & Sarkodie) was labeled one of Ghana’s most streamed albums of all time.

Now with the release of 5 Star, King Promise’s mellow yet danceable blend of Afrobeats, Highlife and R&B have caught the attention of key tastemakers in music.

While the focus track Ten Toes with Nigeria’s Omah Lay has already been hailed as the ultimate West Africa link-up, the 14-track album also features Patoranking, Headie One, WSTRN, as well as previously released singles ‘Slow Down’ and ‘Ginger’.

Dropping alongside the album today, is the official video for the project’s lead single Ten Toes. Shot in Amsterdam, the video features Promise and Omah Lay cruising around the city in a BMW convertible interspersed with performance shots, fine women and stylish dancers — providing a fast-paced snapshot of the five-star lifestyle of this global artist.

With his irresistible signature crooner lyrics and palpably warm and danceable energy, King Promise is fast establishing himself as one of the most exciting African artists breaking out of the continent this year.
