Kunle Afolayan next film Citation on sexual harassment

Kunle Afolayan has been teasing his next film Citation without saying much until today. According to his latest Instagram post, Afolayan is exploring sexual harassment in our universities. The announcement comes on the heels of the BBC Documentary Sex For grades by Kiki Mordi. “I don’t think it is a coincidence that the BBC is talking about a subject matter we have been working on as a film project for almost 2 years.” Afolayan wrote on Instagram.

Citation is a university drama surrounding a female postgraduate student who has to find a way of dealing with the awkward sexual harassment from a popular male lecturer.

Afolayan is one of the Nollywood’s filmmakers with a knack for culturally relevant films- we can’t wait to see his take on this worrying issue in our university. The film is written by his long-time collaborator Tunde Babalola, who penned the screenplays for October 1 and Mokalik. Principal photography will start in January 2020. Details on the cast and release date are unavailable now.
