With a focus on rewriting the narrative by centering dark-skinned black women in his debut music video, Atlanta based artist Kwashie represents blackness as beautifully as one could ask. In a handful of shots in the video directed by production collective Neighborhood Rejects, Kwashie and N3AL are surrounded by black models as they sing “cocoa butter hips on your waist line,” further bringing the delightful mid-tempo record to life.
