Kwesi Arthur And Joeboy Team Up On Slow Burner ‘Baajo’

Following his breakthrough Colours single released earlier this year, which attracted a co-sign from Cardi B, Ghana’s Kwesi Arthur releases his sleek, slow-burning new track Baajo featuring Joeboy, the lead single off his forthcoming project, today.

Baajo presents as a sprightly Afropop heater. The captivating chorus which opens the single is the perfect precursor for the outpour of Kwesi’s lithe vocals that titillates listeners for the rest of the single. Coupled with Joeboy’s lush raps, Baajo is a significant marker in Kwesi’s already notable catalog and a timely statement of intent underlining the breakout star’s natural crossover ability.

Speaking on the track, Kwesi said, “It’s influenced by my experience as a child in community 5, Tema in Ghana. Spending time in my mother’s kiosk with the radio blasting on Christmas Day was a memory of fun, sun, and being surrounded by family. I wanted to capture that puppy love feeling of crushing on my neighbor’s cousin who only came to visit during the Christmas holidays.” On his decision to share the stage with Joeboy, he said, “When Yung D3MZ first played the beat I heard a JoeBoy verse even before I recorded mine.”
