Le Mav and Tay Iwar have nothing to prove to their listeners as their eight-track collaborative Gold, is enough proof of their collective and individual sonic prowess but on the former’s latest, Supersonic, they perform like it’s their debut.
Opening with a barrage of keys enough to offset a flood of emotions, Le Mav begins by laying the perfect plane for Iwar’s lyrical combustion. “I never saw it coming, you got me“, eight words articulated in Iwar’s bass-tinged searing vocals are relatable, not because of his narrative but because of the surprising cadence of Supersonic.
Supersonic is an apt title as it’s a fusion of parallel sounds which despite their difference, come together perfectly, uniquely, and impressively.
