Lost Files: David Meli’s Indecisive EP Is A Strong Afropop Showing

In the Nigerian scene, projects are often prefaced by a barrage of singles which are important to capture audiences. What happens when one track does well is often a cycle of rinsing and repeating the record with a remix and video which come over the space of about six to nine months. While it’s important to leverage a win into a much bigger one, it’s also important to ensure the material being put out reflects the talent and growth. While David Meli introduced himself with Novice and then went on to release a remix with Falz, he ensured not to put too much time into that considerably successful track and within eighteen months of releasing music released his debut EP, Indecisive.

With two singles, The One and Shawty Bad, Meli helped to shake off any suggestions of one-hit wonder before the project was released and then went on to solidify his seat in the community of Afropop acts we’re tipping for big things alongside the likes of Minz, Famous Bobson and WANI with the six track EP.

Altogether, Indecisive is a great debut project which showcases David Meli’s ability as an artist and producer.

If you need only one track to give it a chance, sleeper hit, Lowo featuring Abuja bred rapper, PsychoYP is the one.
