Loti Charts A New Course On “Gorimapa Gangsta Vol. 1” EP

Loti is back again this time with a body of work titled ‘Gorimapa Gangsta Vol. 1’. Gorimapa Gangsta Vol. 1 follows the release of Mainland the lead track of the new EP. The 6-track EP features Talksiick and Kasheefah on tracks 3 and 4 respectively.

After reintroducing himself back in May with his first single of the year Mainland, Loti promised us that we’d be getting an EP soon and he’s kept that promise. With a reintroduction to Mainland, Gorimapa Gangsta Vol. 1 is an expression of the new course he is charting.

The EP opens with the soft energy track Wagwan. Loti’s delivery on this track is as smooth as it is rhythmic. With irrefutably brilliant cadences Loti’s Gorimapa Gangsta Vol. 1 is definitely a project curated with intention. Emo Thug is a standout track as it lures you in with a catchy beat and what sounds like a group of people chanting as they set up Loti who sings, “Me I no be local champion. Me get plenty people wey dey vibe to my song. Them been dey give me yinmu but this life na by turn. Omo na turn by turn” on a track that essentially chronicles him being an “emotional thug” and draws from Styl-Plus’ 2006 classic Olufunmi.

This is an all-hands-on-deck project with 8 producers chipping in to create the body of work. Some of the producers include Walahi Steph (Mainland), Big Fish (Wagwan), Oyin (Wagwan), and JIGGYSTOPPLAYING (Emo Thug), amongst others.
