A fresh explosion occurred around 8:45pm on Thursday evening in the Federal Capital Terriroty, Abuja.
The blast happened when a bomb-laden car exploded at the Karshi Taxi Park, a short distance from where a similar bomb blast happened less than three weeks ago.
According to sources on ground in Abuja, up to 30 lives were lost, with scores injured. This clashes with a statement released by NEMA claiming that 10 bodies have been deposited in the mortuary while 13 unconscious people were receiving treatment.
Security sources said the perpetrators of the blast might have planned to leave the explosive-laden car at the motor park overnight so that it could be detonated on Friday (today) for maximum effect, but the bomb accidentally went off, killing the driver and other innocent people.
Meanwhile, NEMA has called on FCT residents to donate blood to assist victims of the blast.
