Pumping a different kind of energy into the UK scene, Midas has become unmatched, unrivaled, and something like a pioneer in her short but rapid rise. After taking some time off to recover, the UK-based Nigerian artist returns with an unexpected double video drop for two fan favorites, Cloud 9 and Step 2 Me, taken from her earlier released debut EP Midas Touch released late last year.
The seven-track EP, highly personalized and relatable, quickly became a culturally defining project and moment overnight, and to ensure Cloud 9 and Step 2 Me were visualized perfectly, she pulled in some of the most in-demand creatives; on Cloud 9, Nathan James Tettey and Step 2 Me, Mad Brother Productions.
The ritualistic video for Cloud 9 sees Midas front and center alongside dancers Sophia and Cocainna who all command attention with effortless ease. Throughout the video, Midas’ personality is reflected with a nod to The Joker, a misunderstood mastermind, whilst also paying homage to Nigerian Afrobeat legend, Lágbájá, with her traditional attire reflecting not only her roots but her anonymity.

Directed by Mad Brother Productions, Step 2 Me sees Midas behind bars playing out a narrative that redefines gender roles and once again proves her ability to switch things up and change the conversation away from the status quo.
