Nemsia Studios has released the trailer for Suky, a highly anticipated adrenaline-driven action-fuelled drama that is set for global release in March 2025. Produced by Bamidele Adelusi and directed by Ola Cardoso, the film promises an electrifying blend of action, emotion and cultural depth, immersing audiences in the world of underground Dambe boxing.
Set in Nigeria, Suky follows the gripping journey of the titular character, a revenge-seeking man who aims to recover what has been stolen from him. Born into the world of a legendary boxer, Suky’s world crumbles after an unfortunate experience that makes him embittered. While in confinement in an infamous prison, he discovers a lifeline—an underground Dambe boxing competition where victory guarantees an escape ticket. In his quest for freedom, Suky faces equally brutal opponents but more importantly has to confront his past, his pain, and the price of redemption.
The cast of the film includes James Damilare, Tobi Bakare, Olarotimi Fakunle, Femi Adebayo, Bimbo Ademoye, Ibrahim Yekini, and Boma Akpore.
“This film isn’t just about the fight inside the ring; it’s about the fight within—a man’s struggle between vengeance and redemption,” said director Ola Cardoso. “Suky dives into the dark corners of corruption, betrayal, and our sacrifices for freedom.”
BB Sasore, co-founder of Nemsia Studios, noted: “Suky is a testament to the evolving landscape of African cinema—gritty, powerful, and unapologetically raw. We’re proud to bring this intense, character-driven story to a global audience.”
Suky will be available exclusively on Prime Video from March 7th. Brace up and get ready to be thrilled as the countdown to the premiere begins.
