High – Adekunle Gold ft Davido

Adekunle Gold has been breaking new grounds since Afropop Vol. 1  and with collaboration with superstar Davido on High, he just checked another one off his bucket list. Produced by frequent collaborator, Pheelz, High is an infectious Afro-pop, Amapiano inspired tune coupled with the smooth blend of AG baby’s electrifying voice and Davido’s contagious vibe. It’s that song that will keep your speakers booming and leave you feeling high.

Fountains – Drake ft Tems

Prior to the release of the Certified lover boy, Canadian-American rapper, Drake put up a billboard announcing his feature with Tems. This got Nigerians anticipating and all we can say is Tems delivered as expected. Produced by Tresor, Monsune, and Noah “40” Shebib, the song gives appreciation to Afrobeat sounds. With sensational drums and a pop-tuned chorus taken by Drake and the amazing feel of Tems voice, the song is one of such tracks you just want to listen to on a cold weekend.

LOML – Cheque ft Olamide

With singles like Call me baby and Fireboy assisted History, Cheque has shown us how good he can be and LOML further proves this. Featuring Olamide, the song is a love song that expresses his feelings for his lover. The song follows a mid-tempo sound with Olamide’s bass articulation of charming lines making it a mixture of different generic sounds.

Makaveli – T-Classic

The song Makaveli, reveals a different edge to T-classic’s versatility in music as he dials back from his familiar theme of love and switches things up this time around to present a banger that’s upbeat in nature, giving a feeling of summertime goodness powered with enough potential to light up the dance floor. On the track, he talks about how proud he is of his achievements likening the feeling to Niccolo Machiavelli.

Be my guest – WSTRN ft Fireboy

Recently we’ve been having a lot of international artists featuring indigenous afro-beats and this Fireboy feature on Be my guest from London-based rap/R&B collective comprised of Akelle Charles, Haile, and Louis Rei is one of them. Supported by a heady mix of jazz drums, stringy acoustics, and biting keys, the eclectic quartet draws the listener’s attention to very captivating sexual lyrics.

Offend me – Bella Alubo & Blaqbonez

On Offend me, Bella Alubo explores her silky vocals with Blaqbonez taking the song to a bit of a Jamaican tune r&b sound.  From start to finish, Offend Me is complimentary of both singer’s talents with echoing synth keys and heady drums that make up very fine instrumentals. The song gives off intoxicating and soul-drowning sexual vibes.

Point and Kill – Little Simz ft Obongjayar

This track shows off British-Nigerian rapper, Little Simz’s striking personality as a calculated lyricist. Assisted by Obongjaya, the song Point and kill samples Fela’s “fear no man” beat exploring Afrobeats in its raw form. Obonjayar does very well to replicate the Afro-beat legend on this track in a very unique way introducing us to a touch of disco-highlife mixed with traditional afrobeat instrumentals.

Stay chilled!
