NOISEY decided to save the best for last as they took a trip to Lagos in the final episode of the second season. In what was scheduled to be a trip to Lagos where NOISEY would engage with Wizkid, who they tag the King of AfroPop, Zach Goldbaum engages with communities like Akoka, Shitta, Ojuelegba and Alaba.
NOISEY relates with acts Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Ice Prince, White Man, Yemi Alade and Femi Kuti in attempting to tell the story of Nigeria’s music industry. Amongst the topics discussed include, the politicization of music, living and operating out of Lagos, reasons for delving into music and much more.
Despite failing in the initial plan to meet up with and tell Wizkid’s story, Goldenbaum tells an interesting story of the magnitude of Nigeria’s music industry.
