Already, many have juxtaposed the release of the video for Omah Lay’s Godly, one of the more preferred tracks off his sophomore EP, What Have We Done, with his highly publicized release from Ugandan jail. The general consensus is, the video mirrors the attitude Omah Lay maintained throughout the ordeal. Whatever the reason, the video is an actual statement, that reveals Omah Lay’s default demeanor, in any case, is cool, calm, and collected.
A metaphor that alludes to this attitude many of us have turned to a chant, the opening shot and dominant scenes in the video show Omah Lay surrounding by a number of assistants that represent the people trying to ‘body’ him. He clearly drones out the incessant voices by dwelling instead on his relationship with God.
Omah Lay is a budding superstar and this video is a statement alluding to his desire to live and let live despite the noise surrounding his come up.
