Overnight Success: Folayemi Agusto Tells the Origin Stories of EDL and Tix Africa

“I like food a lot,” once said Folayemi Agusto. Her love for food made her start a food blog—Eat Drink Lagos (EDL)—in 2014. The next year she launched the Eat Drink Festival in Lagos, a food festival that aimed “to be a fertile environment for local culinary entrepreneurs to grow and meet new audiences.”

In 2018 Agusto co-found Tix Africa with her Eat Drink Lagos co-founder Nosa Oyegun. A self-servicing platform, Tix Africa was created to be the technological solution to the several problems of event management in Nigeria.

Today Agusto is one of the fast-rising young Nigerian entrepreneurs and a guest in the third episode of Overnight Success, a video interview series produced by The Culture Custodian.

Starring opposite The Culture Custodian’s Editor-in-chief Oluwamayowa Idowu, Agusto reminisces on her childhood in Lagos and how learning financial literacy as a child helped her in her later years as a businesswoman. She also reveals the origin stories of EDL and Tix Africa.
