President and Vice President Declare Assets

President Buhari and Vice-President Osinbajo, have today, declared their assets, which is an order of Chapter VI Section 140 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The information regarding their assets was released by Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity. Below is the list of Buhari’s assets and Osinbajo’s assets.

Buhari’s assets:

  • Less than N30 million (on Inauguration Day) in Union Bank Plc, his only bank account.
  • Shares in Berger Paints, Union Bank Plc and Skye Bank.
  • Seven houses in Kaduna, Kano, Daura and Abuja – two of which are mud houses.
  • Two undeveloped plots of land – one in Kano and one in Port Harcourt.
  • Farms, an orchard and a ranch with 270 heads of cattle, 25 sheep, 5 horses, a variety of birds and a number of economic trees.
  • A number of cars – two of which he bought from his savings and the others supplied to him by the Federal Government in his capacity as former Head of State. The rest were donated to him by well-wishers after his jeep was damaged in a Boko Haram attack on his convoy in July 2014.

Osinbajo’s assets:

  • N94 million and USD900,000 in his bank accounts.
  • A 4 bedroom residence and a 3 bedroom residence in Lagos.
  • A 2 bedroom residence along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and a 2 bedroom residence in England.
  • Apart from his law firm, SimmonsCooper, Osinbajo holds shares in Octogenerium Ltd., Windsor Grant Ltd., Tarapolsa, Vistorion Ltd., Aviva Ltd. and MTN Nigeria.
  • His personal vehicles are one Infinity 4-Wheel Drive SUV, one Mercedes Benz and a Prado Jeep.

According to Channels TV, Shehu has stated that as soon as the CCB is through with the process, the official documents declaring Buhari and Osinbajo’s assets will be released to the Nigerian public.
