Following a two-year hiatus, gifted singer and songwriter Dami Oniru is back with a brand new single titled Soft Life.
Produced by Remy Baggins, the song is the first offering off her upcoming EP, and gives listeners a taste of what to expect from the young star in the weeks to come — something she, herself, has hinted at on social media:
Playing comfortably at just under three minutes long, Soft Life is a melodious new offering that sees Dami’s sultry vocals glide effortlessly across the mid-tempo beat which features soft percussive elements and synth-led undertones. Coupled with the singsong, relatable lyrics, the song has an easy feel to it that captures both Dami’s Nigerian and American roots.
Sharing her thoughts on the song, Dami notes:
Soft Life indirectly addresses the stresses that have been placed on the world in the past few years and the desire to recover from that only by engaging in activities that preserve your peace and energy. The hope is that it [the song] will bring you some form of happiness and satisfaction. A life of ease, I think, is what we all want at the moment, and wealth, lots of it. Right about now, I wouldn’t mind a bank account with many 0’s in it.
Dami’s most notable works include her track Iyawo and her debut project Bri’s Lounge, both of which highlighted her magnetic R&B sound. Her sophomore single Runnin’ strengthened her presence within the music industry and led to Dami’s smooth-as-butter performance for the Grammy’s digital series, Global Spin.
Staying true to herself and her journey, Soft Life showcases Dami’s versatility, talent, and confidence as she sings about the soft life she envisions for herself.
