Nigerian filmmaker Samson Afolabi-Johnson, the technical director of award-winning soap opera Tinsel, is set to release a political thriller The Presidency in the Nigerian cinemas from 21st February, 2025. The gripping film explores themes such as political ambition, greed and insecurity, giving rise to an atmosphere full of suspense, drama and patriotism.
Distributed by film distribution powerhouse Tribe Nation Theatrical Distribution, The Presidency follows the story of Jaiyeola Durodola, played by the talented Mallum Arik, a Nigerian man raised abroad that is encumbered with the complexities of his homeland. Jaiyeola’s return to Nigeria coincides with rising tensions from the Progress Circle members, which sets the stage for a high-stake journey of power and intrigue.
Starring Gideon Okeke, Antar Laniyan, Patrick Doyle, Akin Lewis, Prince Jide Kosoko, Yemi Blaq, Fadekemi Olumide Aluko and Aderonke Onuoha, among others, The Presidency is set to hold the attention of audiences with great storytelling and captivating performances.
