Listen To Sess’s Star Studded Debut Project Omo Muda

Sess comes correct with his fiery debut project Omo Muda. 2018 is almost over but the self-dubbed ‘PRBLM Kid’ albeit late goes to take a top spot in the list of artists winning this year with releases and we sort of saw it coming when news that he’s the sound god producing Falz’s hit songs broke out. Appropriately titled Omo Muda, a dedication to his father and an ode to his unwavering personality, the project contains fourteen high energy tracks mirroring his kaleidoscopic versatility as an artist.

Afrobeat, R&B/Soul, Trap, Fuji and Hip-Hop take the cake in this effort through dexterous deliveries from the star appearances in this project including; Jimmy Jatt, Vector, Simi, Terry Apala, Reminisce, Mayorkun, Adekunle Gold, and many more. We’re ushered in with a dual effort from Simi and Joh Makini in the undulating intro track; One Billi which is followed by Skales assisted lead record Overload. YCee’s cocky swag turns up next in pulsating Boy Bad which in turns welcomes edgy street hip-hop heavy Original Gangster conducted by the king of the streets; Reminisce and Adekunle Gold whose indigenous inflections switches things up in the hooks and chorus. Punchy, classic hip-hop/rap number eponymously named after the Producer and Word Up featuring Mayorkun and L.A.X serve as the bridge to the next 5 tracks.

The consonant texture of this project does not equate repetition seeing as the only constant is Sess’s ability to deliver nothing short of jams and though he turns to cruise on a more mellow plane, he retains the star quality he picked up in the first track. Leading the pack of mid-tempo jams is the Odunsi (The Engine) led Foreign Girls followed by spirited Disco Lights championed by the equally spirited Tomi Thomas who shares the shine on this one with Niniola and DJ Crowdkontrol. LADIPOE and Shank are the slinky vocalists powering Sess’s bass-heavy Smooth Operator. They’re followed by game-changing Terry Apala who serves his multigenre sauce and punchline sensei; Vector in the final cuts.

Not that we expected less from Sess, but for a debut project, Omo Muda is impressive from start to finish and the star-filled project contains offerings for every mood and scenario. From the clubs to our cars and closets, we will be jamming Omo Muda. Rid yourself of whatever funk you’ve gathered this week and stream Omo Muda below.
