Considering how well Simi has been able to blend with the demands of Mainstream music after coming from a background entrenched in Gospel Music, her decision to test the waters as a producer and sound engineer comes as no surprise to us. As she continues to build on her versatility, she diversifies into Production, Mixing and Mastering – skills she’s been honing in bits by contributing to the production of different songs in the past. With her decision to venture into the complexities of music production comes an attempt to lay a foundation for herself this week and she puts this into action by sharing one of her first projects as a Solo Producer titled Small Ting – mixed, mastered, produced and performed by her.
The self-produced track which comes with a video that sees Simi in her element, singing and producing, is a play on words that touch on a number of vices and lifestyles, both personal and general.
For a starter, Small Ting is a job well done that sets the pace for more to come.
