Skales’ newest project, Healing Process opens up with a song of gratitude inspired by an unrelenting spirit and passion that has been his driving force for more than a decade in an industry that in fact, chewed him out. He shares his journey through evolution via adversity on the seven-track EP. Skales’ emotive introspective sessions share the stage with his favorite subjects including love, lust, partying, and his love for the better things of life, the latter, a bit more than the former. Perhaps fronted as a means to lure and engage listeners, the revolving theme of Healing Process isn’t growth even though it reflects it.
With features including Walshy Fire of Major Lazer and Ice Prince, which are as riotous as its themes, the EP is accompanied by the Stanz directed video for Selecta, a melodramatic representation of the equally climatic lead single.
Skales’ healing can be found in his growth since he barely alludes to the subject throughout the project and owing to the battles he’s been referencing since he started promoting it, we can ascribe his newfound persona and approach to music.
