Beverly Naya-produced Documentary ‘Skin’ Now Available on Amazon Prime Video

skin, the documentary on colorism produced by Beverly Naya and directed by Daniel Effiong, is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

The film is set in Lagos and follows Naya on a journey to understanding the different perceptions of beauty. She interviews different folks who have had to conform to societal standards of beauty, from Idris ‘Bobrisky’ Okuneye to Igbo rapper Phyno to sex workers on Lagos Mainland. Skin also focuses on how colorism shapes the face of the Nigeria entertainment industry.

Skin is a documentary about exploring through the meaning of beauty in all the different shades of black.

The film, which was shot by Muhammed Utah (Light in the Dark, The Set Up), stars Eryca Freemantle, Diana Yekinni, Hilda Dokubo and Eku Edewor. Skin screened at the HBO-sponsored Urbanworld Film Festival in New York and at the ongoing Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF).
