$odaman mined his stage name from his explosive twist on rap. He says every verse he writes is symbolic of a can of soda with its ability to bring life to any setting. Establishing his mantra, one that has always been braggadocious, on a number of projects including Soda Is Bad For You and So Da Tape over the past year sets the stage for his debut album, Soda City.
Cuts like Who Gon Check Me featuring Fleacoo, CNN and Money Coming remind us of many of the tracks we’ve heard from $odaman in the past, reminding us of his desire to stack it up and impress the eyes on him. On the alternate side though, we get more insight into what matters to $odaman on tracks like Best One on the Team and Came a Long Way when he takes a moment to recount the importance of loyalty and watching himself grow respectively.
