Whenever the Olympics, originally scheduled to hold in Summer 2020, holds, Nigeria’s Basketball team who shall be coached by Golden State Warriors Assistant, Mike Brown, will be led by Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie who is currently in the process of acquiring a Nigerian passport.
Dinwiddie who was left off the Team USA team will join a Nigerian roster that features Al-Farouq Aminu, Josh Okogie, Chimezie Metu, and Ekpe Udoh.
Nigeria qualified for the 2021 Olympics placing as the top African team in the 2019 FIBA World Cup.
When the NBA season was suspended in March, Dinwiddie was averaging 20.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game.
