Meet Nigeria's New Street Hop Collective, the Street Billionaires

Hi. We Are Street Billionaires.

You haven’t heard of us

In a few years you will remember this moment when you saw us for the first time

This is our first music video

Our budget was 95k.

Seeing this at the beginning of a music video, is more than enough incentive to watch till the end. Street Billionaires are a bunch of misfits who put their own twist to Migos’ Bad and Boujee. Their song is much more than a song, it is a testimony, and the video is much more than a video, it is a prophecy. It uses text to tell their individual tales, at the same time make projections for their near future.

“we actually are coming from nothing… to something”

“Don’t let them tell you anything is impossible”

In the duration of the video, we get to meet the entire gang. There’s Gbafun, who two years ago, was a trailer mechanic but now sees himself becmoing a notable hip-hop act over the next two years. He relays Ijay who used to be a cable installer, who went from that to being on a song with M.I and Olamide. Then there is Candy Bleakz, who was previously a salesgirl, but now is one of the formidable female Nigerian rap artists holding her own on every track she gets the chance to. Finally, we are introduced to the very unique sounding Lemon, who seems to be the only one not accounted with such a dramatic past in the video.

Collectively their story is a very inspiring one. It is one of unending possibility, hard work and determination. Regarding their 95k budget video, watch for yourself and tell us how you think they did in the comments section. Enjoy
