Last year, Tay Iwar underlined his presence as a musical force field with his stunning sixteen-track debut album, Gemini, a project that underlined his immense well of potential. Since it’s release, he has shared the spotlight with Le Mav on a joint EP titled, Gold but largely maintained a subdued presence. This weekend, however, he makes a return with the melodramatic video for Monica, one of the most referenced tracks off the project.
The gothic video directed Alex Loucas mirrors the plot of the soulful single, beginning with dreary scenes of his muse metaphorically preparing for what will become a tragic union. The following cryptic vignettes capture and portray the loss that inspires the track where we see his lover leave him on a symbolic altar for someone else.
The retro video is yet another indication of Tay Iwar’s undeniable creative genius.
