Since the release of his collaborative EP Icy, a smooth combination of his honed western sound and signature vibrant delivery, way back in December 2018, Teebee has been on the move, resulting in the release of his debut EP, West African Love Story. Subsequently, these acclaimed projects earned him international recognition, including a cushy spot on OkayAfrica’s Ten African artists to watch in Toronto list. Riding on the energy these feats have afforded him, he puts his all into yet another joint EP titled African Groove, an ode to the most influential sound in his journey, Afrobeat.
Joined by talented producer KQ Beatz, African Groove takes an experimental, daring approach to Afrobeat while referencing memorable lines and slangs from classics that put the genre on the map.
Teebee is inspired by sounds from all over Africa, and from the shaky percussion that introduces the first track, Rock Your Body, his intent and influences are obvious.
