A couple years back, we heard Tekno had signed to Sony Music following the success of Pana. Today, it is revealed that Tekno shall join the Universal Nigeria roster as well as that of Universal Music Group subsidiary Island Records UK.
While it is worthy of note that Mr Eazi’s Banku Music has a partnership of some sort with Universal Music Nigeria, Tekno signing to the label makes him their biggest and most mainstream act joining the likes of Tay, Odunsi, Nonso Bassey and Idyl on their roster.
While it is unclear the nature the deal will take, it seems certain that Island Records will work on distribution in the UK while UMG will focus on the home front as suggestions Slim Daddy’s debut project is around the corner continue to emerge.
