The Sound Report: The Best Releases From July 2019

This month, the Nigerian music industry became the one stop shop for chart-topping Afro-Pop singles that spanned an array of record-breaking projects from Burna Boy’s acclaimed ‘African Giant’ to Beyonce’s Afrobeat inspired ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ and Bez’s ‘The Light’. Asides these potential award winners, several other underdogs made their way to the frontlines and in serving as record-breaking anthems, they’ve made lasting impressions.
