The last 12 months have been a sort of resurgence for Tiwa Savage. After making the news for reasons not related to the music, she has taken control of the narrative re establishing herself as one of Nigeria’s premier Pop Artists. This is reflected in the success of songs like All Over, Malo and Diet.
Tiwa’s Vibe which initially came across as a loosie has taken a life of its own of late. The song and video sees Ms. Savage accentuating her sex appeal. That said, there’s a problematic undertone to it with lyrics like “If you want to touch my body o/ You gotta spend this money o” on a song which is essentially a walking advert for Alcohol.
