Tiwa Savage Has It Out For Debtors And Her Lover On ‘Owo Mi Da’ And ‘Attention’

Since her UMG debut, Tiwa Savage has been soaring, backed by a solid single, 49-99 and a strong media presence. She continues her winning streak this week with a double release of singles, the first titled Attention, and the second, Owo Mi Da.

Produced by Blaq Jerzee, Attention casts Tiwa as a needy lover who’s not getting enough attention from her lover and though it’s strongly reminiscent of previous releases, Attention comes with an intense acoustic spin that sets it apart from other singles.

On Owo Mi Da, Tiwa has it out for debtors and atop Pheelz’s eclectic compilation of percussions and colorful synths, she lays it all out for the poor targets of her steely lyrics.

Worthy of note is the high concentration of cultural references in Tiwa’s recent work which reflects her brand persona to be one invested in heritage. This hasn’t failed her as the new music resonates with Africans and her rapidly growing international fanbase.
