Tiwa Savage has been tapped to perform at Wireless Festival, UK alongside Cardi B, Travis Scott and more.
Ms. Savage’s been quiet in the first quarter following a stellar 2018 that saw her become the first female Nigerian artiste to win the highly coveted Best African Act award at the MTV Europe Music Award, Bilbao. And also the first female Nigerian artiste to sell out the Indigo 02, London.
Yesterday, she was announced as one of the headliners at the UK’S Wireless Festival . The festival had Wizkid on the bill in 2017 who then passed the baton to Davido in 2018 and now Tiwa Savage.
The preceding years however saw the Festival bill just one African artiste but this year, Savage and Maleek Berry have been tapped to represent the culture.
Earlier in the month, she was also announced as one of the performers at AfroPunk, the biggest black festival in France alongside Grammy-nominated singer Janelle Monáe. Burna Boy and Maleek Berry are also billed to perform at the festival.

This is a win for women in African music and we look forward to seeing more women represent the culture on a global scale.
