Twitter Update: Photos and Links to be excluded from 140 character count

According to Bloomberg, the next Twitter update to be rolled out over the next fortnight photos and links will not be included in the 140 character count.

Even after Twitter automatically shortens links for users, it still takes up 23 characters. This update to the 140-character limit, though still just a rumor is a rational way of improving on the User Experience by allowing to users to express and share ideas without totally abandoning what makes Twitter Twitter.
