How Jola Ayeye Helped Build I Said What I Said Podcast, Salt & Truth and Fem Co

Last week, The Culture Custodian premiered the first episode of its Overnight Success series. The first episode features the publication’s editor-in-chief, Mayowa Idowu, having an extended chat with Jola Ayeye.

A popular podcaster and screenwriter with credits on the Netflix shows Far From Home and The Smart Money Woman, Ayeye hosts the I Said What I Said podcast with Feyikemi Abudu. She is also a founding member of Feminist Coalition, a female-centric, non-profit organisation which played a huge role during the End SARS protests.

Her chat with Idowu settles on several subjects: her childhood and education, the trajectory of her career, the origins of her podcast show, as well as her role as leading director at Salt & Truth.

Subsequent episodes of Overnight Success will feature playful and insightful tête-à-têtes with some of the most important Nigerian creators and entrepreneurs, bringing attention to their origins, and to the tricks and methods of their creativity.
