How Ronami Ogulu Transitioned From Banking to Creative Directing and Managing Ops for Burna Boy

Educated at the University of Durham and Imperial College, Ronami Ogulu’s dream was to work at the World Bank. A dream she was well on track to achieving via work experiences as an analyst at FSDH Merchant Bank and the African Development Bank. However, she got railroaded into joining her mother in scoping out the career of her brother, who was then building momentum as an artist known as Burna Boy.

From initially helping style Burna Boy, she now occupies the role of creative directing and leading operations for his record label, the Spaceship Collective.

Over the course of a 50-minute conversation, old classmates, Ronami Ogulu and ‘Mayowa Idowu talk about stories of her childhood, developing a high sense of responsibility, working with family, and tips young artists can take from Burna Boy’s career.
