Songwriting duo, Busayo Vincent Balogun and Oghenekome Otokumor, made their debut on May 1, 2026, with Groove, a two-track instrumental release. Although it is their first project as artists, both have previously shown their strengths in songwriting and production on records such as “Carry” by Tmaro, “Woman” by Tmaro and Drexbeats, and “Omotena” by Tmaro and PapaRazzle.
Groove, consists of two tracks, Market Dance and Palmwine Bounce, both of which reflect the duo’s instinct for rhythm, layering and atmosphere. On Market Dance, the combination of the nimble bass guitar, the drums and percussive beats pulls listeners immediately into the flow. Throughout the rest of the track, they demonstrate their experience through the coordination of the pacing, tempo, and arrangement in a way that preserves the groove of the track.
On Palmwine Bounce, the energy mellows, but the duo retain their adroit command of the rhythm and texture. On this track, the duo deliver a pulsating and brilliant melody that is immediately memorable. And even though no vocals accompany it, VINKAY fills that space finely with the instrumentation, as expected from a duo with strengths in production and arrangement.
The thing about Groove is that both tracks on the EP are in sonic consonance, and even after they run their course, they leave you wanting to relive the experience almost immediately. You can listen to Groove exclusively on Audiomack and YouTube.
