Following her decision to quit music earlier this year, Waje has remained in the game, gradually finding her roots again with singles that haven’t done much to revive her brand but peaked our interests in the vocalist’s renewed passion for music. One of those singles is the just released Zoro assisted Ngwa, an acoustic driven ode to her bossy persona.
Doused in pipey synths and heavy bass rhythms with complimentary jazz sounds, Waje goes to town over Philkeyz’s intense instrumentals armed with a spicy narrative of Igbo articulated lyrics and one hard hitting verse delivered by Zoro.
Waje might have one leg back in the industry but her resilience and the quality of her recent work are proof of strong freewill that might likely pave the way for her back to relevance.
