Wale Celebrates Women’s Equality Day With Jazz Fused ‘BGM’

Posted on

Wale has always been poetic with his feelings for black women and this is reflected on his new single- BGM – an abbreviation for black girl magic.

Not pandering to the common narrative that paints black women as ‘strong and beautiful’, Wale flips the narrative by taking it a step further and pleading with his muse to love him on top of his appreciation for her.

On a jazz fused bass-driven soundscape and with few words pronounced by pop culture analogies, Wale flips the script, gracefully and blissfully giving us reasons to not only move in line to the quick rhythms but appreciate his charming and empowering lyrics.
