In between Ice Prince’s hazy presence in 2017, came his world-famous hook and chorus on Major Lazer’s Particula, a feature that catapulted him right back into relevant spaces. As he struggles to make a proper comeback this year, he reprises his role as a sound champion on the first single titled Round Of Applause, off Walshy Fire’s – 1/3 of Major Lazer Producer and DJ Tandem – solo project titled Abeng which will be released on the 9th of June, 2019.
On the catchy dancehall tune built on a soundscape of reverberating guitar chords and a variety of drums, Ice Prince shares the spotlight with Jamaica’s Demarco and together, the duo offers rhythmic Rastafarian lines that will definitely power a lot of summer raves and make appearances across Afro-Carribean playlists.
Major Lazer’s trip to various countries in Africa and across the Carribean Islands was clearly not in vain as the trio, as a group and individuals seem to have fully mastered the art of waist and crowd controlling and in Walshy Fire’s bid to command this phenomenon, he enlists Ice Prince, a move that will definitely cement the latter’s comeback.
