Award-winning filmmaker and visuals director Kemi Adetiba is making good on her promise for a King of Boys Sequel with the release of a 5-minute teaser of the upcoming film. The original movie, King of Boys, was released in 2018 with resounding success. The intense 3-hour plot followed the story of Alhaja Eniola Salami, a businesswoman and philanthropist, her struggle for political power, and the cost of her ruthless ambitions. One of many firsts and wins, the stellar production featured Sola Sobowale, Adesua Etomi, Reminisce, Toni Tones, Jide Kosoko, Illbliss, and received multiple awards and recognitions in Nigeria and abroad.
King of Boys II has been in the works and could not have come at a better time. The teaser shows never-before-seen actors sharing the story of “one whose name should not be said out loud” and nothing else but an even whetter appetite for what is to come as popular actress Nse Ikpe Etim was announced as a new member of the cast and by all indications, Makanaki will be making quite a comeback. The entire #KOBArmy, as the cult-like following of the movie is called, is agog with excitement and speculations are in every online corner about what comes next in what is already Nigeria’s number one thriller story.
